A few days ago, Wang Sicong, the son of Wang Jianlin, chairperson of Wanda Group, sued Guangzhou NetEase Computer System Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "NetEase Company") and Beijing Sohu Internet Information Service Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sohu Company") to the court on the grounds of infringement of reputation rights, demanding that the two defendants stop infringing and delete infringing web pages, apologize and compensate 200,000 yuan for mental damage respectively.
According to the "Case Express" released by the official Weibo of the Chaoyang District People’s Court of Beijing at 10:45 on September 12, Wang Sicong said in the indictment that on July 21, 2014, "NetEase Entertainment" and "Sohu Entertainment" were titled "Rich Second Generation Wang Sicong Tossed Million Vote" and "Rich Second Generation Wang Sicong Tossed Million Vote, Netizen: SNH48 Exploded AKB48". The report said that he spent tens of millions to vote for the bunny girl. The report said, "Some informed netizens broke the news that Wang Sicong cared deeply about the bunny girl SNH48 combination. He not only took the initiative to take a photo with Mengmei Paper, but also paid tens of millions of yuan to vote for its general election…". The report was accompanied by a photograph of a Bank of China cheque addressed to Shanghai Xingsiba Cultural Communication Co., Ltd., which was used for "voting expenses for the SNH48 general runoff election." The report also said that the company was the brokerage company of the Bunny Girl Group.
Wang Sicong said that the content of the above-mentioned report is completely based on the wind and maliciously fabricated false facts, and the check in the picture has nothing to do with it. The above-mentioned acts of spreading and fabricating false facts have seriously damaged their legitimate rights and interests, so they sued the court, asking NetEase and Sohu to stop infringing and deleting infringing webpages, apologize in national newspapers, and compensate 200,000 yuan for mental damage respectively.
The surging news search found that the two news items mentioned by Wang Sicong in the indictment can still be clicked on by NetEase on the website; the news item on Sohu has been revoked and clicked to jump to other pages.
At present, the Chaoyang court has officially accepted the two cases, and Wang Sicong finally got his wish. At 11:36 on the 12th, he wrote on Weibo: "Although the current media are all using grandiose headlines and embellished content to attract attention, it is a bit too much to generate topics purely out of nothing and fabricated and fake evidence? In my opinion, journalists and the media must at least have a bottom line." He also initiated the topic of uninstalling the NetEase client incidentally.
