In terms of atmospheric environmental quality, in 2020, the proportion of excellent days in cities at prefecture level and above reached 87%, an increase of 5.8 percentage points over 2015 and 2.5 percentage points over the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" target. PM2.5, that is, the average concentration of fine particles in cities at or above the prefecture level that failed to meet the standards reached 37 μ g/m3, which was 28.8% lower than that in 2015 and 10.8 percentage points higher than the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" target.
In terms of water environment quality, the proportion of excellent surface water bodies in China has increased from 66% in 2015 to 83.4% in 2020, exceeding the target of the 13 th Five-Year Plan by 13.4 percentage points; The proportion of inferior V water bodies decreased from 9.7% in 2015 to 0.6% in 2020, which exceeded the target of the 13th Five-Year Plan by 4.4 percentage points.
In terms of soil environmental quality, the safe utilization rate of contaminated farmland and contaminated land in China both exceeded 90%, successfully achieving the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" goal. In terms of ecological environment, the national forest coverage rate reached 23.04% in 2020, and the area of nature reserves and various nature reserves accounted for 18% of the land area.
In addition, in terms of carbon emission reduction in response to climate change, carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP in 2020 decreased by 18.8% compared with 2015, and the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" target task was successfully completed.
